How to read a Utah land ownership map
Western Utah is a checkerboard. A BLM section can sit against a SITLA section with no fence and the same two-track. Phone navigation will call both of them nothing useful.
What the click should say
- Federal / BLM — casual-use conversation can start.
- State / SITLA — school trust. Not BLM.
- Forest Service — a different memo.
- Private, tribal, park, defense — stop.
