What this site collects

There is no account, no newsletter signup, and no form that asks for your name. You can read every page without telling the site who you are.

The host, Cloudflare, may log standard server data when you request a page: IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. That log is used to run and secure the site. We do not sell it.

If you email [email protected], we keep that message long enough to answer it.

Affiliate cookies

Some gear pages link to Amazon and may link to other outdoor retailers. If you click one of those links, the retailer can set a cookie so a later purchase is credited to this site. That cookie belongs to the retailer, not to this site. Amazon’s cookie window is short. Other programs last longer. See the affiliate disclosure for how commissions work.

We do not run a display-ad network on the site today. If that changes, this page will say so.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not buy email lists.
• We do not ask for a permit number, tag number, or precise dig location.

Children

The site is written for adults planning a trip on public land. It is not directed at children under 13.
